Monopod Head

Update to this product can be found at
http://hejnarphoto.blogspot.com/2011/08/hejzal-monopod-head.html

Monopod head is finish. As usually my first time around with new product i did only few of them.
My friends has been testing them for a few weeks now. For now clamp can be mounted on directly with knob on left or right. If you need to mount clamp in orientation when knob is in camera front or camera back you have to use additional plate. I am working on new clamp design with option of mounting on monopod head in any orientation without optional monopod plate.
MH can be mounted directly on 3/8-16 stud found in most monopods. If you need 1/4-20 connection i do provide reducing bushing. Bushing when not needed is store on monopod head itself. Please look on first picture. They are two round openings under clamp to the left and right of center axis. On right side you can see bushing screw in.

Monopod head can be placed in any arca swiss compatible clamp in any direction you wish. Bottom of MH does have V grove for that purpose.

The center photo shows an adapter plate. Have you considered making one similar for the RSS lever release (very similar to your screw clamps) to a Gitzo traveler/ball head? The Gitzo has three small screws that secure the QR to the ball head. The RSS lever QR has three holes, the center for a 3/8 stud or 1/4 (or 6mm) tapered screw and two out board 1/4-20 threaded holes (could use a smaller tapered screw).

The Gtizo 1750 ball head works very well, but it is not compatible with the Arca standard. Would be nice to be able to adapt the RSS lever release to it.

Thanks.

Are you talking about connecting arca type clamp on one side and Gitzo on opposite side.
All i need is hole location for Gitzo and i can do that in few weeks

That is one option. What I was looking for is the three holes for the Gitzo head (these are small recessed holes for cap head Allen screws) to mate with head and two out board holes to mate with a standard really right stuff lever quick release. Sunwayphoto makes what you mentioned but it is a screw type qr. Some of my photography requires quick changes from horizontal to vertical so the RRS lever release works better. I saw your plates and they seem to be similar to the RRS plate with the three holes. I can get dimensions for you tonight

PS. Just bought one of your D7000 L brackets for my backup camera off eBay. Thanks

I am familiar with RRS dimension
(30mm apart) on level release clamps
(30mm or 45 mm) no problem there.
What i don't know is hole location on Gitzo. (I have 1540 monopod) but does not have holes you mentioned.
I am not sure if i understand what do you want to do.
From top
1) RRS level release clamp
2) adapter plate
3) Gitzo ball head
( i need hole mounting position for that)
can you send me picture

Will send picture and dimensions tonight. The adapter plate is exactly what I am looking for. I will mic out the holes too. I use the 1541T with a 1780QR head. I like the head but would like to use a lever release QR. The RRS BH 50 is just too large for the 1541
Thanks
